Hula Anyone Bridge to Kauai
Aloha to our Hula Anyone ‘Ohana,
For nearly six decades, our hālau has been a vibrant home for Hawaiian and Tahitian dance right here in Santa Barbara. Under the guidance of Angelita Eller, we have shared the stories, the rhythms, and the spirit of Polynesia with thousands of students, families, and audiences across the Central Coast.
Whether you are a lifelong dancer or someone who recently searched for "hula classes near me" and found your way to our studio, you are a part of this incredible 60-year legacy.
But as we approach our diamond anniversary, we aren't just looking back at where we’ve been. We are looking across the Pacific at where we are going next.
Something monumental is on the horizon.
We are preparing for the most ambitious cultural mission in the history of Hula Anyone—a project that will bridge our Santa Barbara roots directly to the sacred, misty highlands of the Alaka‘i Wilderness in Kaua‘i. It is a journey of preservation, education, and deep cultural reverence.
The path is set. The chants are being prepared. Now, we are getting ready to invite you to join us on this historic pilgrimage.
Celebrating 60 Years of Aloha (1968–2026)
Since 1968, Hula Anyone has been the heartbeat of Polynesian arts in Santa Barbara. Under the direction of Angelita Eller, we have provided a nurturing platform for dancers from ages 4 to 84 to preserve and celebrate traditional Hawaiian and Tahitian culture.
THE MISSION: THE BRIDGE TO KAUA‘I
To honor our Diamond Jubilee, we have received a rare and prestigious invitation to perform at the 38th Annual Eō e ʻEmalani i Alakaʻi Festival in Kōkeʻe, Kaua‘i, on November 7, 2026. This isn't just a trip for our halau—we are proudly representing the entire 805 area code as we journey to the high mountain forests of the Alaka‘i wilderness.
We are taking three generations of dancers—from our youngest keiki to our honored kupuna—to return to the source of these traditions.
🌺 HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Our "Bridge to Kaua‘i" campaign ensures that no dancer is left behind. We are raising funds for scholarships to cover travel and cultural residency costs for our students.
