Celebrating Jackie

Last weekend we were honored to get to celebrate the life of our hula sister Jackie Torres. Two years ago, we lost Jackie after her heroic fight with colon cancer. We were so lucky to be able to gather at the beach to honor our sister and friend. Below are some photos and messages and thoughts from Angelita from the day.

“Almighty Father, Universal Spirits, we release our dear friend, wife and mother to you. To join you in infinity.  We dance in gratitude and honor for the years she was in our lives”

“Water is infinity. As water falls on the earth, making its way to the river then the river flows into the sea. Evaporating into the clouds to start the cycle again. Infinity.
Just like with every sunrise comes a sunset. Infinity.
Jackie is now in infinity with the mountains, wind, ocean, nature.”

“All present who came from near and far, You are Jackie’s stories.
Her absence taught us that life isn’t forever but what we create will be. It remains with a life of its own.  Death ends a life not a relationship.
With her memories in our hearts we honor each individuals relationship with her and rejoice in the meaning and purpose in our lives.
Jackie’s work is done, so let us not grieve so sorely. There is work still for each one of us. Let us not idly stand while life remains.”
